Someone asked me. Is there a Rapture?
I search it out then responded with the following message from the Word.
1 Thessalonians 4:13-18 (KJV)
13 But I would not have you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning them which are asleep, that ye sorrow not, even as others which have no hope.
14 For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him.
15 For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep.
16 For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:
17 Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.
18 Wherefore comfort one another with these words.
What did we learn by these verses?
1. The word rapture is not in the bible.
2. When you die you sleep until the return of Christ.
3. There is a 'so-called rapture' by definition but not until Christ returns. Some believe this happens prior to the terrible last days or the day of the Lord but, from what I can see, Christians will have to go through these days and overcome unto the end.
He that overcometh shall inherit all things; and I will be his God, and he shall be my son.
NOTE: We see that the first group, that are in Christ, have died, (they sleep and don't go to heaven at their death as many believe) they will resurrect first. Secondly, those that are in Christ that are still alive when He returns will rise second and join the first group in the air with the Lord.
The main point is to be in Christ - that is the real secret to salvation.
So how do you get 'In Christ'?
We know that Peter was given the Keys to the Kingdom of God so, what was Peter's message in Acts?
Repent and be baptized in the name of Jesus for the remission of sins and you shall receive the Holy Ghost.
When you receive the Holy Ghost you have Christ in you.
But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his.
REPEAT - Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his. Meaning - depart from me for I never knew you.
Matthew 7 (KJV)
22 Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?
23 And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.
But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you. (you MUST have the Holy Spirit in you to be saved)
For as many of you as have been baptized into Christ have put on Christ.
To whom God would make known what is the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles; which is Christ in you, the hope of glory:
Believing and having faith leads to baptism in Jesus name and the filling of the Holy Ghost.
